Polar Bear Hall of Fame
The roots of the WHS Hall of Fame date back to 1980, when a group of dedicated members of the Woodward Family organized an Alumni Dance to raise money for Woodward's Athletic Department. In 1982, a Woodward Hall of Fame was suggested in conjunction with the dance. it was decided that the Hall of Fame inductees would be selected from all fields. Graduates from Woodward, faculty members, and friends of Woodward who supported the school would be eligible for induction. in 1988, the Hall of Fame began giving scholarships to deserving Woodward seniors. Scholarship funds come from donations, silent auctions, and raffles. So far, 181 individuals have been inducted into the Woodward Hall of Fame, and over $200,000 has been given in scholarships to over 100 worthy Woodward students.
